Darby Allin challenged TNT Champion Kevin Knight to a Falls Count Anywhere rematch at AEW All In: London during Saturday’s Collision.
Allin laid out the challenge in a video that aired during the broadcast from Colorado Springs, calling for a stipulation that fits the increasingly violent history between the two. As of air time, Knight had not accepted, and the match had not been officially added to the August 30 Wembley Stadium card.
The rivalry turned personal at Double or Nothing on May 24. After MJF defeated Allin for the AEW World Championship, Knight came out and initially appeared ready to help, causing MJF to retreat. Instead, Knight hit a UFO Splash on Allin while he was strapped to a stretcher, then flipped it over.
They met one-on-one for the TNT title on the July 22 Dynamite. Knight retained, but the finish was anything but clean. He cracked Allin in the back of the head with the title belt while referee Paul Turner was down, then connected on a coast-to-coast dropkick and UFO Splash to secure the pin.
Allin made clear on the July 25 Collision that the issue wasn’t settled. The story advanced again at Grand Slam: Mexico on August 5, where Allin teamed with Místico and Chris Jericho to beat Knight, Kazuchika Okada, and Hechicero in trios action.
Most importantly, Allin scored the deciding fall directly on Knight with a Coffin Drop, giving him added momentum heading into Saturday night’s challenge.
