AJ Styles is not expected to take on a permanent role as a WWE NXT producer — at least not the way it had been speculated over the past few hours.
The rumor started after comments from the “Phenomenal One” about his visit to the Performance Center were taken out of context. Styles mentioned that he sat in on classes, watched NXT and EVOLVE, and even helped out a producer when the team was shorthanded, including wearing a headset despite having no prior experience in the role.
However, the idea that he was interested in becoming a long-term producer was shut down by the WWE Hall of Famer himself. Responding to a post on X that attributed that intention to him, Styles was blunt: “Nope”.

Styles’ current role in WWE is a different one. After retiring from in-ring competition and being announced for the Hall of Fame Class of 2026, he transitioned to a behind-the-scenes role focused on scouting independent talent and development.
Triple H had previously indicated that Styles tried sitting in on creative and production meetings but realized that kind of work wasn’t for him. According to the chief creative officer, Styles’ interest lies in finding young talent and helping in the early stages of the development process.
In short, Styles will remain with WWE, but his role is expected to stay focused on scouting and talent development rather than a permanent position as an NXT producer.
