LA Knight remains one of the most popular names in WWE, even though he has never won a world title in the company.
On a recent edition of The Phenomenally Retro Podcast, AJ Styles discussed the “Megastar’s” future and made it clear that he would like to see him reach the top of the company. The quote was transcribed by Fightful.
“I do hope he gets to be World Champion. I really think he’s earned it. His mic work is pretty freaking awesome. He’s a guy that can hold a Heavyweight Championship, no problem and he’s got the mouth to back it up. I’d like to see it happen.”
Styles and Knight have a notable history in WWE. The two faced each other at WrestleMania 40 after a rivalry that began when Styles attacked Knight during the Elimination Chamber, stopping his attempt to earn a match for the World Heavyweight Championship.

Knight is currently trying to reposition himself near the top of Friday Night SmackDown. On the June 12 episode, he competed in a Fatal 4-Way Match in the King of the Ring tournament against Jey Uso, Finn Bálor, and Royce Keys, but came up short after interference from Solo Sikoa and a win by Jey.
On the following show, Jey advanced again and secured his spot in the King of the Ring final against Oba Femi at Night of Champions, leaving Knight out of WWE’s immediate major plans for the event.
Even so, Styles’ public support adds to a long-running discussion among fans: the idea that Knight may still have a bigger run ahead of him than just secondary titles.
