Jey Uso is one win away from becoming King of the Ring and earning another shot at a world title in WWE. On this week’s Friday Night SmackDown, held at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri, “Main Event” Jey defeated Je’Von Evans in the tournament semifinal.
The match was one of the show’s biggest highlights. Evans had several strong chances to win, including connecting with the Red Dot, but he could not put Jey away. Jey avoided the OG Cutter, hit a Spear, and followed up with the Uso Splash for the victory.
After the match, Jey helped Evans back to his feet and raised his arm as a sign of respect for the young wrestler.
With the win, Jey will face Oba Femi in the finals at Night of Champions. The event will take place next Saturday, June 27, at Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Femi punched his ticket to the final this past Monday on RAW by defeating Dominik Mysterio. Despite interference from JD McDonagh, “The Ruler” picked up the win after hitting the Fall From Grace.
Along with the crown, the winner will earn a world title shot at SummerSlam, which could put Jey Uso back in Cody Rhodes’ path — or even Roman Reigns’.
