Kenny Omega has not taken the AEW World Championship out of his plans.

Speaking with The Sportster, “The Cleaner” said the current AEW World Title picture is the most exciting it has been since the company launched.

His comments come at a busy point at the top of AEW. MJF is the current AEW World Champion and is set for a 12-man Steel Cage Match at Forbidden Door, teaming with Kevin Knight, Kyle Fletcher, Kazuchika Okada, Jake Doyle, and Andrade El Ídolo against Mark Briscoe, Orange Cassidy, Kyle O’Reilly, Roderick Strong, Konosuke Takeshita, and Darby Allin.

Omega said the following:

“This is probably the most exciting for me that the title scene has been. I mean that via the amount of competitors vying for the belt. Sometimes you’ll have a champion and you’ll know who’s gunning for it and you know that’s gonna be the story for the long run. And now I mean, jeez, we have MJF as the champion, but it could easily be Darby. It could easily be a Kyle Fletcher. It could easily be a Takeshita. Kevin Knight. Okada. Who knows? Maybe it could be me. It could be an Ospreay. Swerve. We have so many possibilities where if that belt went around their waist, it wouldn’t look odd. It wouldn’t look out of place. I would feel that the company’s in good hands and I think it’s the first time where we’ve had close to almost 10 guys where you could put that belt on and it’s gonna be okay.”

Omega is also trying to work his way back into the title picture. On the June 13 episode of AEW Collision, he defeated Bad Dude Tito before putting Zack Sabre Jr. and MJF on notice, saying it was only a matter of time.

Will Ospreay and Swerve Strickland will meet in the men’s Owen Hart Cup final at AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door 2026, with a future AEW World Championship match at All In at Wembley Stadium on the line.
