Big E, who remains with WWE as an ambassador and analyst, has once again spoken about Kofi Kingston and Austin Creed, his former New Day stablemates, following their move to AEW.
In a recent interview with OzarksFirst, Big E, a former WWE Champion, said the relationship he built with both men goes far beyond pro wrestling. He also recalled that he and Creed were in their 20s when The New Day got its start, while Kofi was in his early 30s. All three are now over 40.
“We built a bond that I really believe is bigger than just a job or a company,” Big E said, “and more than anything, I will always root for those guys in whatever path they take, and I’m so proud of them.”
Kofi and Creed left WWE in May and made their AEW debuts at All In: London on August 30. Teaming with Swerve Strickland, they won the AEW World Trios Championship as The New Level.
The trio has held the titles ever since. At All Out, Strickland, Kofi and Creed beat “Hangman” Adam Page, Bandido and Brody King to retain.
