Brie Bella Shares Major Update on Her Possible WWE Return

Brie Bella has shown significant progress in her recovery from a fractured scapula suffered at WWE SummerSlam, regaining a considerable range of motion and the ability to lift her injured arm.

In an Instagram Stories post on Thursday, September 3, Bella demonstrated that she could raise her arm and bend it to roughly 90 degrees, describing it as her biggest step forward since the injury:

“Finally able to get my arm up. I think it’s time to shave my armpits. Big week for me! The most movement I’ve felt since the injury. Still have a long way to go but feels good to move my arm.”

Bella suffered the injury at SummerSlam on August 1 and 2 at Minneapolis’ U.S. Bank Stadium, teaming alongside her sister, Nikki Bella, and Paige against Fatal Influence.

Speaking on The Nikki & Brie Show, the WWE Hall of Famer detailed how she fractured her scapula after taking a cannonball into the steel steps. Doctors determined surgery was unnecessary despite the bone breaking in multiple places, establishing an initial recovery timeline of three to six months.

On August 20, Brie noted that she had already begun physical therapy, acknowledging that removing her arm from the sling and moving it remained extremely painful. She added that she would undergo regular X-rays every two weeks, followed by a CT scan to confirm the bones were healing properly.

WWE has not announced an official target date for Brie’s return to the ring, though Nikki floated the 2027 Royal Rumble as a possibility if her sister’s recovery stays on schedule.
