Chelsea Green revealed that she pitched a Hair vs. Hair Match against Nikki Bella for the last two WrestleManias, but the idea never came together.
Speaking with Chris Van Vliet on Insight, the current Interim WWE Women’s Champion noted that she even volunteered to lose the match and have her head shaved.
“I’m so serious that I pitched it for both WrestleManias in Vegas versus Nikki Bella. I’ll lose. I’ll shave my head.”
She added that her husband, Matt Cardona, was fully on board with the idea of her losing her hair at one of WWE’s premier events.
“I have a huge forehead. I would look like a peanut, but my husband loves me, and he also was like, ‘Yeah, do it, whatever. That’d be so cool.’ He’s such a student of the game. He would love it. He would love knowing that I did something that would be history-making, right?”
Beyond landing a marquee WrestleMania match, Green explained that she wanted to use a feud with Bella to elevate the WWE Women’s United States Championship, a title she has held twice.
Both WrestleManias Green referenced took place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. WrestleMania 41 was held on April 19 and 20, 2025, while WrestleMania 42 took place on April 18 and 19 of this year.
Ahead of WrestleMania 41, Green was champion and publicly expressed interest in facing Bella in a Hair vs. Hair Match. Bella also showed interest in the feud, saying just days before the event that she was waiting for an open challenge from the champion. Green was ultimately left off the card entirely.
At WrestleMania 42, Nikki Bella was originally announced alongside Brie Bella to challenge for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship, but an ankle injury kept her out of action. Paige stepped in and captured the titles with Brie.
Despite now sitting atop the women’s division, Green has not completely ruled out competing in a Hair vs. Hair Match down the line.
