CM Punk has officially qualified for the 2026 Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match. He defeated Finn Bálor and Gunther in a Triple Threat Match that main-evented this week’s WWE SmackDown.
The match took place at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. Punk and Bálor joined forces at times in an effort to neutralize Gunther.
Late in the match, Gunther locked Punk in a sleeper hold, but Bálor climbed to the top rope and hit the Coup de Grâce on Gunther’s back to break the hold. Punk wasted no time capitalizing. He covered Gunther and scored the pinfall before Bálor could break up the count, securing his spot in the ladder match.
The win makes Punk the fifth competitor confirmed for the men’s ladder match. He joins Bron Breakker, Je’Von Evans, Trick Williams and Penta, who qualified earlier.
Punk’s new opportunity comes just two weeks after he lost the Undisputed WWE Championship to Sami Zayn on the September 11 episode of SmackDown.
Money in the Bank is set for Saturday, October 10, at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.
