Cyndi Lauper could finally be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame after years of being viewed by many fans as one of the Hall’s biggest omissions.
The singer recently got back on WWE’s radar because of a new licensing partnership with Mattel. The company announced the WWE Rock N Wrestling Connection 3-Pack, which will be released on July 23 and features Lauper’s first official WWE action figure, along with “Rowdy” Roddy Piper and Captain Lou Albano.
According to WrestleVotes Radio, the relationship between WWE and Lauper has strengthened, making a future Hall of Fame induction more likely than ever. However, the word is that it is not expected to happen in 2027.
Lauper herself commented on the release of the new collectible in a statement issued to Sports Illustrated:
“I’ve always believed in the magic of bringing music, personality, and storytelling together, and my time at WWE was exactly that.”
Lauper’s importance to WWE history goes back decades. At the first WrestleMania in 1985, she accompanied Wendi Richter to the ring for her match against Leilani Kai for the Women’s Championship.
Despite that, Lauper has never been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, even though her role is often remembered as essential to WWE’s push into the mainstream during the 1980s.
