Swerve Strickland still has no announced match for AEW All In on August 30 at Wembley Stadium, despite targeting another main event at the venue as one of his top goals for the year.
On a recent episode of Self Made Sessions, the Self Made Pro revealed that AEW had at one point discussed a tag team match involving Swerve for the pay-per-view. The plan fell through, however, and is not expected to happen.
“What I do know is at one point a tag match was discussed for him at Wembley. I don’t think the one that was discussed that I heard about is in the cards anymore.”
Strickland has been off television since Forbidden Door on June 28, where he lost to Will Ospreay in the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament final and missed out on an AEW World Championship match at All In.
Despite his absence from programming, Tony Khan said before Redemption that Swerve was handling commitments outside of pro wrestling and remained in great standing with AEW, including an appearance at San Diego Comic-Con.
Swerve is no stranger to the Wembley stage. In 2024, he main-evented All In as AEW World Champion, dropping the title to Bryan Danielson in a Title vs. Career Match.
