Darby Allin, currently in his first reign as AEW World Champion, has once again made it clear that he has no plans to change his extreme style inside or outside the ring.

In a feature published by ESPN, Allin spoke about his relationship with danger and brought up the AEW Revolution spot where Clark Connors caught him with a surprise spear.

When asked how he is still able to keep competing after taking so many risks, Allin said he has used “about all” of his nine lives, adding that he accepts the consequences of the way he lives.

“Connors was new to AEW, and it was his first pay-per-view, so he had to make an impact,” Allin told ESPN. “I’ve been there and know what it’s like to want to make an impact, so I thought I’d help him have his moment.”

“I’ve used about all my nine lives,” Allin says, “so I have no answer to that.”

“If the worst that is going to happen to me is dying, so be it. It’s fine, but it’s not worth sitting by and watching this life go by and doing nothing interesting with it.”

Allin defeated MJF on AEW Dynamite: Spring BreakThru on April 15, capturing the AEW World Championship in just over two minutes.

Since then, AEW has leaned into Allin’s image as a champion willing to defend the title often. On the May 6 episode, he defeated Kevin Knight, and he is also scheduled to face “Speedball” Mike Bailey on tonight’s show.

Allin is also expected to defend the AEW World Championship against MJF at Double or Nothing on May 24, in a match where the former champion will put his hair on the line.
