Darby Allin will defend the AEW TNT Championship against Josh Alexander at Fright Night Dynamite on Wednesday. Alexander challenged Allin on Saturday’s Collision.
The challenge came after Alexander defeated Blade Brown. Alexander won by referee stoppage after locking in an ankle lock.
After the match, Alexander grabbed a mic and praised Don Callis for putting together what he considers the most dominant faction in pro wrestling. He pointed to the Don Callis Family’s accomplishments and Kazuchika Okada’s reign as AEW International Champion but said he wanted a title of his own.
Alexander also promised that if he wins the TNT title, he will put it on the line against Adam Copeland. Copeland came out right after the challenge and confronted Alexander. While Alexander and Trent Beretta left the ring, Rocky Romero took a spear. Beretta tried to come back to help Romero but was hit as well. Mark Davis and Jake Doyle then arrived and attacked Copeland before he could hit Alexander.
Alexander and Allin have been feuding for weeks. As previously reported, Alexander returned to AEW in September and attacked Allin after a TNT title defense against Davis.
On the October 14 episode of Dynamite, Copeland beat Alexander in a qualifier for the Clockwork Carnage match at WrestleDream.
Alexander mentioned the Don Callis Family’s involvement in the Blood & Guts match, but he isn’t among the six wrestlers AEW has announced to face Allin and Copeland’s team on November 4.
Allin won the TNT title by defeating Kevin Knight at All In: London on August 30. He has made four successful defenses since then.
Fright Night Dynamite will take place at Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, Missouri.
