Mysterio reclaimed the Intercontinental Championship from Cena on Nov. 29, 2025, in San Diego. Liv Morgan returned during the finish, hit Cena below the belt and then struck him with the title before Mysterio landed a 619 and frog splash for the pin. It was Cena’s final WWE PLE match.
The AAA Mega Champion has wrestled only once on a WWE PLE since then. “The Demon” Finn Bálor beat Mysterio in a street fight at WrestleMania 42, finishing him with a Coup de Grace through a table.

Mysterio will face Danhausen in a Human Monies on a Pole match on SummerSlam Night 2. The winner will leave with the cash Danhausen took from Judgment Day, while Mysterio’s AAA title won’t be on the line.
Danhausen made the challenge on the July 27 go-home RAW after Judgment Day and boxer Ryan Garcia wrecked Danhausen’s concert with Joe Hendry. The match takes place Sunday, Aug. 2, at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.
