Dominik Mysterio already has a new look in mind for the WWE Intercontinental Championship if he can reclaim the title.
During a recent appearance on the Amigos Toxicos Podcast, Mysterio said he plans to customize the Intercontinental Championship if he wins the title back. He already has ideas for the design but did not reveal what changes he would make to the belt.
A victory would begin Mysterio’s third Intercontinental title reign. He first won the championship at WrestleMania 41 on April 20, 2025, pinning Finn Bálor after hitting a frog splash in a four-way match that also included then-champion Bron Breakker and Penta.
John Cena ended that first reign on the November 10 episode of RAW, defeating Mysterio with an Attitude Adjustment to capture the Intercontinental Championship for the first time. Mysterio regained the title from Cena at Survivor Series on November 29, with Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez interfering behind the referee’s back during the match.
Penta has been central to both of Mysterio’s runs with the title. Mysterio retained against him at Backlash in May 2025 and again on the October 13 RAW in Perth before Penta finally took the championship from him on March 2, 2026.
Mysterio received another title shot three weeks later, but Penta retained after Finn Bálor became involved. Mysterio then tried to work his way back into the title picture on July 13 when he entered a seven-wrestler number one contender’s gauntlet match. Chad Gable won to earn the SummerSlam title shot.
That leaves Mysterio on a different track this weekend. Penta will defend against Gable on Sunday, while Mysterio faces Danhausen in a Human Monies on a Pole match.
