A video from earlier today shows the arrivals of several of the night’s featured names, including Dominik Mysterio, El Grande Americano, Rey Mysterio, and Lola Vice.
At ringside, Rey Mysterio’s music hits, and the AAA General Manager makes his way to the ring. He greets the Aguascalientes crowd and says he has a strong connection to the city. Mysterio then says he has major news for the fans on the first night of AAA Verano de Escándalo. Mysterio was interrupted by Dorián Roldán and Omos.
With the crowd showering him with boos, Roldán questioned why Omos had been placed in a qualifying match for the AAA Latin American Championship when he should have been awarded the title following El Hijo del Vikingo’s injury. Roldán reminded Mysterio that he had given him one week to reconsider, warning that Omos would destroy him if the title was not returned to the giant.
Mysterio refused to be intimidated, saying he had received plenty of threats throughout his long career. He then reaffirmed that he would not hand the title back to Omos.
An angry Roldán made it clear that Mysterio had been warned and said he would not be responsible for the consequences of the General Manager’s decision, bringing the segment to an end.
Backstage, Dominik Mysterio met with El Grande Americano and wanted to make sure Americano would have his back against Los Perros del Mal later in the night. Americano asked him the same question. The two agreed they would have to work together to ensure their AAA Mega Championship match at Triplemanía 34 remained intact.
After Mysterio left, Damián 666 approached Americano and told him that only a select few are chosen. The comment left the masked man deep in thought.
AAA World Mixed Tag Team Championship Match: Lola Vice & Mr. Iguana (c) vs. La Hiedra & Laredo Kid
– Hiedra hit a Faceplant on Vice, followed by a pinfall.
At a press conference, Rey Mysterio said he wanted to deliver the announcement he was unable to make earlier due to interruptions from Omos and Dorián Roldán. Mysterio then announced that current WWE Intercontinental Champion Penta will appear at AAA’s next show in Torreón.
Tag Team Match: AAA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio and El Grande Americano vs. Los Perros del Mal (Daga & Angel)
– Daga hit a Double Stomp on Americano, followed by a pinfall.
Dominik Mysterio, who walked out on Americano at the end of the match, headed to the entrance ramp alongside Omos and Dorian Roldán, closing out the show.
