Dominik Mysterio has become one of WWE’s clearest recent examples of adaptation. Since making his in-ring debut in 2020, Rey Mysterio’s son has gone from a young babyface tied to his family to one of the most heavily booed heels in the company, especially after joining The Judgment Day.

Appearing on JaackMaate’s Happy Hour alongside Liv Morgan, Dominik was asked about the main skill needed to succeed in WWE. His answer was being able to adapt.

“I would say, being able to be adaptable. The nature of our business goes, you just never really know how the audience is gonna react. You never know how things might go or things might change in an instant.”

“You have an idea, and then right before you go out there, the idea changes or something gets moved, and you just have to adapt and change on the fly, or do what you need to do in that moment.

“So I feel like if you can’t adapt or can’t with the program it’s gonna eat you up and spit you out.”

Over the past few years, Dominik has had to deal with extreme crowd reactions as he adapted to The Judgment Day, his rivalry with Rey Mysterio and a growing presence in AAA.

Dominik is currently the AAA Mega Champion. He has also won the Intercontinental Championship twice, the SmackDown Tag Team Championship and the NXT North American Championship twice.

Recently, he also competed in the King of the Ring Tournament, winning his first-round match against Bron Breakker, Trick Williams and Damian Priest before losing to Oba Femi in the semifinals.
