U.S. subscribers on Max’s Basic with Ads plan were blocked from watching Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite shortly before and during the broadcast.
The show’s page displayed a “Switch Plans” prompt directing users to the Standard and Premium tiers. Access was restored early in the show, according to Basic plan subscribers.
The block coincided with an apparent update to Max’s own support pages. The streamer lists its Live Sports content as available only on the Standard and Premium plans, but a separate section of the site still says Dynamite and Collision can be watched on any Max subscription.
Warner Bros. Discovery’s September schedule had already listed the September 16 episode on the service with no indication that a Standard or Premium plan was required for AEW’s weekly shows.
One subscriber who hit the block before airtime reported that Saturday’s Collision page and next week’s Dynamite didn’t carry the same plan-switch notice.
As of publication, neither Max nor AEW had offered a public explanation for the issue or announced any change to which plans include Dynamite and Collision.
Wednesday’s Dynamite is airing from Chartway Arena in Norfolk, Virginia.
