Wayne's puka shell necklace cost him the match against Jericho, leading to a post-match chair attack on Dynamite.

Nick Wayne Lays Out Chris Jericho With a Chair on AEW Dynamite

Nick Wayne laid into Chris Jericho with a steel chair after losing to him on Wednesday’s Dynamite in Norfolk.

Wayne’s puka shell necklace played directly into the finish. Jericho kicked out of Wayne’s World, then ripped the necklace off and broke it. Wayne froze when he saw the broken necklace on the mat, and Jericho rolled him up for the pin.

Jericho offered a handshake after the bell, but Wayne wasn’t having it. As Jericho turned to leave the ring, Wayne caught him with a low blow, grabbed a chair, and cracked him with it twice before walking off.

The necklace had already been a sore spot in the feud. On the September 2 AEW Dynamite, Jericho taunted Wayne over getting pinned in the Casino Gauntlet at All In: London and mocked the necklace. Wayne answered with a slap across the face, and the backstage brawl ended with Jericho on the ground again.

Three days later, Wayne beat Komander on Collision, but Jericho showed up right after the bell and dropped him with a Judas Effect. Wayne fired back with a promo on last Saturday’s Collision, challenging Jericho to Wednesday’s match.
