Tony Khan Makes Major Announcements for AEW Dynamite

AEW added two matches to Wednesday’s Dynamite in Norfolk.

Tony Khan announced Jamie Hayter vs. Lena Kross, along with an eight-man tag pitting Christian Cage, Adam Copeland, Darby Allin and Steven Borden against FTR, Kevin Knight and Kyle Fletcher.

The women’s match serves as a preview of the Chicago Street Fight between Brawling Birds and Divine Dominion at All Out, as Khan explained on X:

“Hayter & her Brawling Birds partner Alex Windsor defend the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Title vs Divine Dominion at #AEWAllOut, but Kross aims to take out Hayter before Chicago! Hayter vs Kross, TOMORROW NIGHT!”

The match gives Kross a chance to weaken one of the champions before the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship rematch at All Out. At All In: London on August 30, Hayter and Alex Windsor captured the titles from Kross and Megan Bayne.

Divine Dominion clawed back some momentum three days later, when Bayne beat Windsor in a singles match. The Brawling Birds fired back by proposing a Chicago Street Fight for All Out on September 26 in the Chicago area.

The eight-man tag ties directly into last week’s Dynamite, where FTR helped Kevin Knight and Kyle Fletcher beat the Young Bucks in a Tables Match. FTR didn’t stop there, trying to keep the beatdown going, but Darby Allin and Steven Borden ran in for the save. Borden was making his Dynamite debut, having beaten Josh Alexander earlier that night.

Wednesday’s card also includes Chris Jericho vs. Nick Wayne and Will Ospreay, Andrade El Ídolo and Francesco Akira vs. PAC, Jon Moxley and Gabe Kidd.
