Jacy Jayne will challenge Tiffany Stratton for the WWE Women’s United States Championship next week after the two struck a deal on Friday’s SmackDown in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Chelsea Green opened the show celebrating her Interim WWE Women’s Championship victory at SummerSlam, making her first SmackDown appearance since the event. Stratton was called to the ring, but Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid interrupted the celebration.
Jayne turned her attention to Stratton and made it clear she wanted the Women’s United States Championship. Stratton offered Jayne a title match next week on the condition that she and Green immediately receive a shot at the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships held by Henley and Reid. Fatal Influence accepted.
In the tag title bout, just as Green looked close to winning, Jayne pulled Stratton off the apron, giving Henley and Reid the opening to hit Fatal Flaw on Green and retain.
The match next week will also be a rematch of their July 17 SmackDown bout, when Stratton defeated Jayne to qualify for the Ladder Match for the Interim WWE Women’s Championship at SummerSlam.
