Jey Uso has been showing more signs of a shift in attitude on WWE programming, especially after reuniting with Roman Reigns and Jimmy Uso in The Bloodline.
In an interview with Jackie Redmond, published on WWE’s official YouTube channel before Night of Champions, Jey was asked why he chose to realign with Reigns after so many fans had supported his singles run.
Jey said he no longer cares about the fans, pointing to the backlash he has received on social media and videos with high dislike counts across WWE’s platforms.
Jackie Redmond asked the following:
“So many people in the WWE universe were thrilled to see you go out and explore this universe on your own, and you do it successfully. So, I think a lot of fans want to know why you’ve chosen to realign with Roman Reigns.”
Jey responded:
“You want me to be honest? I really don’t care about the fans no more. ‘Cuz when I was doing my thing, they saw the hate. I can’t miss it. It’s all in my face. Social media, whatever it is, man. When my name pops up, I see it out there. I’ma let y’all know. Most dislikes video on social media on WWE social media platform. Look it up, boo. Five, six, ten videos out there. It’s all good. If anything, Jackie, yo, man, that thing lit a fire under me. All the noise, all the opinions. Cool. It is what it is, ‘cuz that’s part of the job. What’s up?”
At Night of Champions this Saturday, June 27, in Saudi Arabia, Jey will face Oba Femi in the King of the Ring final, with the winner earning a World Title opportunity at SummerSlam.
Jey reached the final after defeating LA Knight, Royce Keys and Finn Bálor in the first round before getting past Je’Von Evans in the semifinals. Femi, meanwhile, advanced by defeating Penta, Solo Sikoa, Carmelo Hayes and Dominik Mysterio.
