Add as a preferred source on Google Kendal Grey will get another major opportunity in WWE NXT. After defeating Kelani Jordan on this week’s show, Grey became the new No. 1 contender to the NXT Women’s Championship, currently held by Lola Vice.
The match will take place at Great American Bash on June 28, airing on The CW Network.
Grey has been gaining major momentum on NXT programming, especially because of how quickly she has developed since arriving in the company.
On social media, Grey commented on the opportunity and admitted she is dealing with a mix of emotions.
“First thought, 16 days until the Great American Bash, literally crazy, insane. I’m nervous, I’m happy, I’m excited, all the feels. I’ve been training for this, not just starting today, I’ve been training for this since two and a half years ago when I walked into the Performance Center.
“Second thought though, little sad, usually when I’m training my best friend Wren is by my side, and she’s not by me. It sucks because we’re always training together, we’re wrestling together, but she wanted to take time to focus on her recovery and have me focus on my thing, so that’s what we’re doing.
“No matter what, I’m not gonna let this opportunity slide from my hands for the third time, because you know what they say, third time is the charm, and we’re gonna see in 16 days.”
Lola Vice won the NXT Women’s Championship by defeating Jacy Jayne at NXT Stand & Deliver.
