Tavion Heights is officially chasing the WWE NXT North American Championship. On this Tuesday’s episode of WWE NXT, Heights defeated Jackson Drake to become Myles Borne’s new challenger at Great American Bash.

The match featured The Vanity Project at ringside, with Brad Baylor, Ricky Smokes, and Myka Lockwood trying to interfere on Drake’s behalf. At the decisive moment, however, Borne came out to stop them from directly getting involved in the match, opening the door for Heights to win.

After the match, Borne tried to raise the new challenger’s arm, but Heights quickly rejected him.

The reaction made it clear that things between the two are still far from settled. Borne and Heights have a long history together in NXT, but recent events have pointed to a growing split between them.

Last week, Heights had already confronted Borne backstage, saying he wanted an opportunity at the title.

Great American Bash will take place on Sunday, June 28, and air on The CW Network. Along with Borne vs. Heights, WWE has already confirmed Tony D’Angelo defending the NXT Championship against Naraku, while Lola Vice will put the NXT Women’s Championship on the line against Kendal Grey.
