Kevin Owens raised serious concern during Sunday’s WWE live event at the North Charleston Coliseum in North Charleston, South Carolina, after apparently getting hurt during his match against The Miz.
Owens appeared to injure his left leg while attempting a superkick. He went down in the ring and was checked on by the referee before finishing the match on a noticeable limp. Owens picked up the win over The Miz but needed help getting to the back afterward.
Footage from the event immediately sparked speculation about a potential knee injury. However, PWInsider is reporting that the situation is far from confirmed at this point.
According to the outlet, no one they spoke with in WWE could confirm that Owens was legitimately hurt. Some talent backstage believe what fans saw may have simply been selling during and after the match.

The concern is amplified by the fact that Owens returned to the ring less than a month ago. He had been sidelined for 17 months with a serious neck injury before making his comeback at SummerSlam, where he defeated Sami Zayn, Gunther, and Finn Bálor in a Fatal 4-Way Match to earn a shot at the Undisputed WWE Championship.
Just last Friday, Owens worked SmackDown as scheduled, facing Gunther and Bálor in a match to determine a contender for CM Punk’s title.
