Tommaso Ciampa took to social media moments ago to pay tribute to Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods following confirmation that both have left WWE.

As reported earlier, Kofi and Woods walked away after rejecting new contract terms tied to a TKO-led restructuring. Their exit closes a run that began in 2014 with The New Day, one of the most popular stables in modern WWE history.

On Instagram, Ciampa shared a series of throwback photos with Kofi, Woods and several other wrestlers. He focused on who they are outside the ring.

“Kofi is a rare breed in this industry. Matter of fact, he’s one of a kind in life. I feel lucky to have had a front row seat throughout so much of his journey, from the Jamaican days in Chaotic and developmental, to main roster, to Kofi Mania and beyond… he never changed. Not once. Not for a second.”

Ciampa also called Kofi and Woods “special talents” but said they matter even more as men, friends and coworkers. The former NXT Champion noted he trained at the same school as Kofi and Ivar more than 20 years ago. He also crossed paths with Woods at the ECWA Super 8 about 16 years back.

With Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods gone, The New Day’s future is now officially in doubt.
