Add as a preferred source on Google The women’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament final is now officially set for AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2026.
During the AEW Collision tapings for this weekend’s episode, Maya World defeated Athena to advance to the final, where she will face Mercedes Moné at the pay-per-view.
Mercedes had secured her spot the night before on AEW Dynamite, defeating Hazuki in one of the tournament semifinals, as we reported here at Wrestling Noticias.
Moné’s match against Hazuki was extremely hard-hitting. In the end, Moné managed to trap her opponent in the Statement Maker, forcing the tap out and punching her ticket to the final.
Forbidden Door is set for Sunday, June 28, at SAP Center in San Jose, California. The event will feature names from AEW, NJPW, CMLL, and STARDOM.
With that, Moné enters the final as the favorite, especially after winning the tournament in 2025. Maya World, meanwhile, will have the biggest match of her AEW run after eliminating one of the tournament favorites.
