La Catalina is the new AAA Reina de Reinas Champion. She defeated Flammer on night two of Triplemanía 34 at Arena CDMX in Mexico City to win the title.
The match was back and forth, though Flammer controlled much of the early going. Catalina mounted a comeback down the stretch, hitting a spear on the outside.
In the closing moments, Catalina landed a Gori Bomb and then another spear, but Flammer wouldn’t stay down. Catalina then hit her finisher to pick up the win.
The victory ends Flammer’s historic reign. She won the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship at Triplemanía XXXI in 2023, defeating Taya Valkyrie. Her reign became the longest in the title’s history.
Catalina had previously challenged for the title at Verano de Escándalo in a Triple Threat Match against Flammer and Lady Shani.
The rivalry between the two started when Catalina arrived in AAA. On her debut in April, she interrupted a Flammer celebration and made it clear she had her eye on the Reina de Reinas Championship.
With the win, Catalina already has her first challenger lined up. Roxanne Perez defeated Nattie, Faby Apache, and La Hiedra on night one of Triplemanía 34 and is set to face the new champion at Worlds Collide in Chicago.
