Former WWE star Lars Sullivan is back in the spotlight after a new social media post about politics and the September 11, 2001 attacks.
In a reply to another user on X, Sullivan took aim at Democrats.
“Sounds like snowflake democrats who don’t want people to be reminded that radical Islam committed 9/11.”
The September 11 attacks were carried out by 19 men trained by al-Qaeda. Nearly 3,000 people died after four planes were hijacked in attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, while another aircraft crashed in Pennsylvania.
This isn’t the first time Sullivan has been at the center of a major social media controversy recently. In August, he said publicly that it was acceptable to be “islamophobic” and made other comments about Muslims in the United States.
Sullivan has already faced serious consequences in WWE over offensive comments he posted before joining the company. In 2019, WWE fined him $100,000 and required him to take sensitivity training. At the time, he apologized and said those old comments didn’t reflect his beliefs.
Sullivan left WWE in January 2021. He later told Fightful he was dealing with serious anxiety issues and indicated his pro wrestling career was likely over.
