Liv Morgan broke her silence after losing the WWE Women’s World Championship to Stephanie Vaquer at Saturday’s WWE live event in Santiago, Chile.
The title change was controversial, largely because of Becky Lynch, who served as special guest referee for the match.
In the closing moments, Morgan hit Oblivion on Vaquer and appeared to have the win locked up. Lynch started her count but stopped at two. Vaquer capitalized, connected with the SVB and followed it with the Vaquer Inferno to win the title.
Morgan posted on X calling the result one of the greatest tragedies in pro wrestling history:
“The greatest tragedy in the history of wrestling .. The Santiago screwjob 🖕”
The “Santiago Screwjob” label makes it clear Morgan doesn’t consider the loss legitimate and will almost certainly be looking for payback.
The loss ended Morgan’s reign at 147 days. Vaquer, meanwhile, began her second run as Women’s World Champion.
The new champion will be on tonight’s RAW in Mexico City. WWE also filmed a mini-documentary about Vaquer’s return to Chile and may release the title change through WWE Vault.
