Liv Morgan’s Women’s World Championship loss may not keep her out of the title picture for long.
Speaking on a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said Morgan is expected to win back a world title sooner or later, while Becky Lynch is also reportedly on track for another reign of her own.
Morgan dropped the Women’s World Championship to Stephanie Vaquer on September 12 at a WWE live event in Santiago, Chile, ending her 147-day reign. The title change put the belt back on Vaquer in her home country.
The finish heavily protected the former champion, though. Becky Lynch, who served as special guest referee, stopped her count after Morgan connected with the ObLivion on Vaquer, allowing Vaquer to recover and win shortly after. Meltzer had previously noted that the booking served a bigger purpose:
“It sets up Liv and Becky, obviously, down the line, which we all knew they were going to [do] anyway.”

Meltzer also predicts that Becky Lynch is in line for a title run.

The seeds of a Morgan-Lynch rivalry were planted as far back as August 3, when Becky returned to Monday Night RAW and made it clear she had no interest in the Women’s Intercontinental Championship. Her target was the world title Morgan held at the time.
The situation escalated on Monday’s RAW, when Lynch found Vaquer backstage and told her she’s owed a shot at the Women’s World Championship.
Morgan, meanwhile, isn’t going anywhere either. On the same show, she teamed with Dominik Mysterio against Vaquer and El Grande Americano in a match that ended in a disqualification after Judgment Day interfered, attacking Vaquer, Americano, and Rey Mysterio.
