WWE has announced that Cody Rhodes and Sami Zayn will meet for the Undisputed WWE Championship on Monday’s RAW in San Diego. The company has not said whether the match will air on Netflix or take place as a dark match seen only by the fans in the arena.
Wednesday’s announcement on WWE’s official social media accounts came with a promotional graphic of Rhodes and Zayn and a call for fans to buy tickets for the show at Pechanga Arena.
The post went up a day after PWInsider reported that WWE had been holding internal discussions about running dark matches featuring top stars to boost ticket sales.

The show’s timing supports the possibility of a dark match. Pechanga Arena’s official event calendar lists a 7:30 p.m. ET start time, while Raw begins streaming on Netflix at 8 p.m. ET. The 30-minute gap leaves room for attractions before the broadcast, but it does not indicate when the title match will take place.
Rhodes and Zayn were originally set to meet for the title on the July 6 RAW in Chicago. Gunther attacked Rhodes before the match, clearing the way for CM Punk to step in and beat Zayn for the championship. Zayn regained it on the Sept. 11 SmackDown.
Zayn’s title defense on Monday comes ahead of his Champion vs. Champion Match against World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns at Crown Jewel on Nov. 7.
