Mark Henry has been a regular presence in WWE-related content over the past several months, but the Hall of Famer hasn’t officially returned to the company.
In a recent interview with ITR Wrestling, Henry clarified his current status, revealing that he does not have a traditional Legends Deal with WWE. Instead, his arrangement is what he calls a “nostalgia deal,” centered on the commercial use of his name and likeness.
“I’m not on a legends deal. I do not have a legends deal; I don’t know why people assume. I do not work for WWE. I do WWE Radio through SiriusXM. That’s pretty much the only connection. I have a nostalgia deal, where I allow them to use my name to make action figures and do video games and that kind of stuff. But I don’t work for them.”
Henry’s comments also clear up the confusion surrounding his recent WWE appearances. The former World Heavyweight Champion appeared on the SummerSlam Countdown, where he broke down the Brock Lesnar vs. Oba Femi match. He also remains one of the voices on WWE Radio, though that role falls under his SiriusXM work rather than a WWE contract.
WWE Radio officially launched in July on SiriusXM channel 156. The lineup includes Busted Open, a show Henry was already part of before the media company’s partnership with WWE.
Henry signed the nostalgia deal in March 2025. In a separate interview, he explained that the agreement can also cover appearances, corporate events, and other commercial work, but without the obligations typically associated with a Legends Deal.
Henry has been a free agent since May 2024, when he chose not to re-sign with AEW. Since then, beyond his SiriusXM work, he has also turned his attention to All Caribbean Wrestling.
