Matt Hardy has responded to criticism of TNA on social media, particularly regarding ticket sales for Bound for Glory 2026.
The exchange began when a fan blamed the company for the situation. Another user pointed out that last year’s event also featured a nostalgia match, The Hardys vs. Team 3D.
Hardy fired back, saying the announcement of that match alone sold nearly 4,000 tickets for Bound for Glory 2025 before the rest of the card had been announced.
The event drew 7,794 fans at the Tsongas Center, setting a new TNA attendance record in North America.
When another fan argued that The Hardys can’t ride nostalgia forever, Hardy pointed to TNA iMPACT! ratings on AMC.
“The highest rated episode of #TNAiMPACT on AMC was built around The Hardys vs The Righteous – Only ep to break 309,000 viewers live.. Was that nostalgia? Some people may be nostalgic for us, but there’s even more that are rabid to see us & meet us. Numbers don’t lie, dude.”
Wrestlenomics data shows 307,000 viewers for the July 23, 2026 episode, with a 0.05 in the 18-49 demo. Despite the slight difference from Hardy’s figure, the episode remains the highest-rated iMPACT! since the show’s AMC debut. The week before, the show drew 286,000 viewers.
The July 23 episode featured the Righteous Deletion between The Hardys and The Righteous, held at the Hardy Compound, as one of its top highlights. Matt and Jeff Hardy won the match.
TNA president Carlos Silva also weighed in, backing Hardy’s comments.
“True story from the Hardy’s and the Righteous. Records are records. Now we gotta get to 400k on AMC. Positive work and attitude will get us there along with all the talented teammates. The Hardy’s rock.”
This year’s Bound for Glory takes place on October 11 at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida.
