Mercedes Moné has finally reached the top of the AEW women’s division. At Sunday’s All In: London from Wembley Stadium, she defeated Willow Nightingale to capture the AEW Women’s World Championship for the first time.
Moné earned her title shot by winning the Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament for the second straight year. She also entered All In with a title opportunity in 2025 but came up short against Toni Storm.
Willow entered the match banged up, dealing with a fracture in her left hand. Tony Khan confirmed the injury ahead of the pay-per-view, though Nightingale was cleared to compete. The injury was also worked into the storyline, with Moné repeatedly targeting the champion’s hand during the build to the event.

8:22 PM · Aug 30, 2026Even with the injury, Willow nearly pulled off the win at Wembley, connecting with the Doctor Bomb while referee Aubrey Edwards was down. Moné survived, though, and went right back after the injured hand down the stretch.
The finish came when Moné locked in the Statement Maker. Nightingale never tapped, but Edwards called for the bell with the hold still applied. The broadcast indicated Willow had lost consciousness, though she still appeared to be responsive at the time of the stoppage.
The victory gives Moné the one major AEW championship that had eluded her during her run with the company. Nightingale’s reign comes to an end after beginning at Redemption on 7/26, where she defeated Thekla.
