Kofi and Austin Creed made a perfect AEW debut at All In: London, held Sunday at Wembley Stadium. Now going by The New Level, the duo teamed with Swerve Strickland to capture the AEW World Trios Championship.
Strickland was revealed as part of the Wild Card Team at the top of the show but didn’t unveil his partners until later, bringing out Kofi and Austin Creed, formerly known in WWE as Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods.
Strickland and The New Level entered the match as the seventh and final team. The field also included Bang Bang Gang, The Dogs, The Demand, The Conglomeration, Death Riders, and defending champions “Hangman” Adam Page, Bandido, and Brody King.
The finish began to take shape when Ricochet eliminated Page, ensuring a title change. Down the stretch, the match came down to Swerve Strickland, Kofi, Austin Creed, Gabe Kidd, PAC, and Claudio Castagnoli.
Strickland eliminated Gabe Kidd with a House Call, and shortly after, Kofi and Austin Creed eliminated PAC and Claudio Castagnoli, respectively, clinching the titles.
The win ends the reign of “Hangman” Adam Page, Bandido, and Brody King, who won the championships on May 8 by defeating The Demand at AEW Grand Slam: Mexico.
