Michael Cole Says WWE Money in the Bank Is on the Same Level as the Royal Rumble and Survivor Series

Michael Cole believes WWE Money in the Bank is moving closer to establishing itself among WWE’s biggest premium live events.

Speaking recently with Bobby Burack on OutKick Dropkick, Cole discussed the standing the event has earned on the company’s calendar.

“Money in the Bank, for us, is right up there. Almost at the same level as the Royal Rumble, Survivor Series.”

Cole added that while Money in the Bank is not on the level of WrestleMania or SummerSlam, the event keeps growing in importance, largely because a win in one of the ladder matches can transform a wrestler’s career.

This year’s event is set for today, Saturday, October 10, at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. The show will stream live on the ESPN App and Netflix.

The Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match features CM Punk, Kevin Owens, Bron Breakker, Trick Williams, Je’Von Evans and Penta. The Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match includes Tiffany Stratton, Roxanne Perez, Sol Ruca, Lola Vice, Jacy Jayne and Lash Legend.

Each winner earns a contract that can be cashed in for a world title match at any time within a year.
