Mickie James approved of her husband Nick Aldis’s actions at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, held at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Aldis interfered in the match that pitted CM Punk and Cody Rhodes against Gunther and Sami Zayn. With the Ring General closing in on the win, the SmackDown General Manager pulled the referee out of the ring and struck Gunther in the face with the Undisputed WWE Championship.
The attack opened the door for Punk to hit the GTS, followed by a Cross Rhodes from Cody, who picked up the pinfall over Gunther.
With that result, Punk and Rhodes kept their SummerSlam title match as a singles match. Had Gunther and Zayn won, both would have been added to the match, turning it into a Fatal 4-Way match.
After the show, Mickie James reacted to Aldis’s revenge with a short post on social media:
“Revenge is so sweet.”

The reaction came after Gunther attacked Aldis on the July 10 episode of SmackDown. During that segment, the Austrian, angered that his plans for the Undisputed WWE Championship had been thwarted, applied several sleeper holds on him.
The rivalry will now be settled inside the ring. During this Sunday’s SummerSlam Kickoff, Gunther confronted Aldis again and set off another commotion. Triple H then appeared and officially announced a match between the two for SummerSlam, which will take place August 1-2 in Minneapolis.
