Nikki Bella has reportedly been earning praise backstage in WWE for her ability to draw attention on social media.
The positive reaction could lead the company to give her some kind of push.
According to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, Bella’s numbers continue to impress people within the company. One source said they wouldn’t be surprised if WWE decided to give her even more TV time in the coming months.
The recognition behind the scenes ties in with something Bella has brought up before. During a September episode of The Nikki & Brie Show, she discussed the reaction to her SmackDown match against Paige.
“Our numbers ended up being the most talked about from Friday Night SmackDown,” Bella said.
On the same episode, Bella said she was the most-searched female wrestler in the world after SmackDown on September 11. She also pointed to the interest the feud with Paige was generating on social media and said she was enjoying the attention the storyline was getting.
Publicly available numbers help measure her reach. According to HypeAuditor, Bella’s engagement rose by roughly 3.25% in October.
Paige defeated Bella on last week’s SmackDown in a rematch that ended in controversy when Paige used the ropes for leverage on the pinfall. Despite the loss, Bella is still chasing a shot at Chelsea Green’s WWE Women’s Championship.
WWE has already taken a step in that direction. As previously reported, Bella will face Green for the title on the October 30 episode of SmackDown in Charleston, West Virginia.
First, though, Green will defend the title against Roxanne Perez on Friday’s SmackDown.
