Nikki Bella and Paige had a match marked by taunts involving John Cena on WWE SmackDown on Friday in Sacramento, California. The two used Cena’s signature moves during the match, which ended with a win for Paige.

It all started when Paige imitated the famous “You Can’t See Me” gesture, preparing to hit the Five Knuckle Shuffle. Nikki, however, managed to stop the move and surprised her opponent with an STF, one of the main finishers used by Cena during his career in WWE.

Paige managed to reach the ropes to escape the submission. Then, she hit an Attitude Adjustment on Nikki, but could not get the pinfall. The sequence drew attention for involving three of the best-known moves of Cena, with whom Nikki had a relationship of several years.

The taunts, however, did not stop there. Nikki also reproduced the traditional clapping of The New Day, a group that includes Xavier Woods, in another personal reference directed at Paige.

In the final moments, Paige reversed a roll-up attempt and used the ropes to get the pinfall. The result repeated, in reverse, what happened on the Sept. 11 SmackDown, when Nikki won using the same trick. With that, each has one win in the two singles matches of this rivalry.

The references to Cena were already part of the storyline between the two. As previously reported by Wrestling Noticias, Paige used the motto “Hustle, Loyalty and Respect” to taunt Nikki in September, in a segment that had part of her remarks removed from the version of SmackDown made available by Netflix.
