Kenny Omega will challenge Yota Tsuji for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship at Wrestle Kingdom 21. It’s the main event of the seven matches NJPW set up following Tuesday’s Power Struggle in Hiroshima.
Omega earned the shot by pinning Tsuji himself in a non-title three-way match that also included Boltin Oleg. He pitched the stipulation after he attacked Tsuji during King of Pro Wrestling on October 12.
In the main event, Gabe Kidd defeated Taichi to retain the IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship and then attacked Hiroshi Tanahashi, the NJPW president, with a piledriver. Yuya Uemura made the save for Tanahashi, and backstage, Kidd confirmed that he will defend the title against Uemura at the Tokyo Dome.
Jon Moxley, who joined Kidd in the attack, will face Shingo Takagi. Will Ospreay is set to take on Callum Newman, the leader of United Empire, after they failed to win the IWGP Tag Team Championship from the Knockout Brothers.

MJF appeared via video on the show and will face G1 Climax 36 winner Ryohei Oiwa.
In the junior heavyweight division, YOH will defend the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship against SHO, and the stakes are high. If he loses, YOH will leave NJPW. If SHO loses, he will leave House of Torture and reunite Roppongi 3K with YOH, his former partner.
Taiji Ishimori and Robbie X of Unbound Co. defeated Robbie Eagles and Kosei Fujita to win the Super Junior Tag League. But the two teams will meet again in a three-way match at the Dome for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship, with Mistico and a mystery partner as the third team.
NJPW will hold Wrestle Kingdom 21 on January 4, 2027, at the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo. The show will kick off the promotion’s 55th anniversary celebration.
