Oba Femi has finally explained why he passed on a shot at one of WWE‘s world titles at SummerSlam to settle his rivalry with Brock Lesnar first.

Opening this Monday’s Raw in Dallas, Paul Heyman accused Femi of being obsessed with Lesnar, calling him an idiot for turning down the opportunity he earned by beating Jey Uso in the King of the Ring final.

Femi, though, said the call came down to one thing: he believes Lesnar would inevitably show up and ruin his title match anyway. In other words, before he can climb to the top of WWE, The Ruler has to eliminate the biggest obstacle in his way for good.

Femi had already broken the news weeks ago, telling Adam Pearce as much on the June 29 episode of Raw. He just hadn’t gotten into the specifics.

This week, Heyman came out with restraining orders barring Lesnar and Femi from going anywhere near each other. Femi ignored the order, stepped into the ring, and took out the police officers surrounding Heyman and Brock.

The Hell in a Cell match at SummerSlam will settle a trilogy that’s currently tied at one apiece. Femi won at WrestleMania 42; Lesnar answered back at Clash in Italy. It’ll be Femi’s first time inside Hell in a Cell, while Lesnar carries a 2-2 record in the structure.
