WWE RAW opens on Netflix with cameras catching Seth Rollins, Penta, IYO SKY and The Vision — Bron Breakker, Austin Theory, Logan Paul and Maxxine Dupri — arriving at the arena in Dallas.
Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman kick off the show. Five police officers escort the pair to the ring and take up position in front of the entrance ramp.
Once inside the ring, Heyman introduces his client and reveals that the police presence is all because of Femi. According to the WWE Hall of Famer, The Ruler gave up a title opportunity at SummerSlam just to get his hands on Lesnar — proof, in Heyman’s eyes, that Femi is completely obsessed with him.
Everyone gets obsessed with Lesnar, Heyman says, right up until Lesnar destroys them. But he admits the obsession runs both ways. Every time he calls his client, Heyman says, Lesnar makes it clear he can’t wait to get his hands on Femi.
To head off another confrontation, Heyman says he secured a restraining order through a judge close to his family. Femi can’t attack Lesnar — and Lesnar, who Heyman insists respects the law, won’t break the order either. The lights go out.
Oba Femi appears on the ramp to a massive reaction. Police immediately climb into the ring and form a wall in front of Lesnar and Heyman as the Nigerian star sizes up his rivals. Mic in hand, Femi heads straight for the ring while Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman watch, smiling. The Ruler says he’s here to fight — but first, he wants an explanation for why the police are there.
Heyman isn’t having it. He orders the officers to enforce the restraining order and get Femi out of there. One of them steps into the ring to ask Femi to leave — and gets thrown right back out for his trouble. Femi turns on the rest of them next, taking down every last officer and sending Lesnar and Heyman backpedaling up the ramp.
Femi calls Lesnar a coward. At SummerSlam, he warns, there won’t be anywhere left to run. Lesnar and Heyman head to the back. Femi stays put, alone in the ring.
From there, the broadcast cuts to the first part of a video package on the Seth Rollins-Roman Reigns rivalry, opening with the formation and rise of The Shield in WWE.
Singles Match: IYO SKY vs. Roxanne Perez w/ Judgment Day (Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez)
– SKY counters a move by Perez into a roll-up, winning the match.
Raquel Rodriguez, Liv Morgan and Roxanne Perez launch an attack on IYO SKY. Sol Ruca comes out to help the Japanese star, but Raquel takes her out of the equation, sending her into the barricade and one of the ring posts.
Morgan connects with an ObLIVion on SKY in the meantime. Raquel and Roxanne hold her down long enough for Morgan to knock her out with the title belt. The Judgment Day poses in the ring to close out the segment.
From there, a video recaps last week’s SmackDown, when Jacob Fatu gave Solo Sikoa an ultimatum.
The Vision — Bron Breakker, Austin Theory, Logan Paul and Maxxine Dupri — heads to the ring to a chorus of boos. Paul grabs the mic and demands respect for the new World Tag Team Champions, making a point to note that Dupri deserves just as much credit for the win.
Dupri barely gets a word out before Otis and Akira Tozawa show up. The pair climb onto the apron and ask for a few minutes alone with their former partner. Breakker, Theory and Paul aren’t thrilled with the idea, but Dupri talks the trio into leaving her alone in the ring.
Visibly emotional, Tozawa asks what’s going on with her. Dupri assures him she still cares about both of them — she just says they didn’t leave her any other choice.
Dupri accuses Otis and Tozawa of judging Theory without even knowing him. Otis fires back, reminding her that he’d already warned her Theory wasn’t a good guy. Dupri insists he doesn’t know Theory at all, but Otis says he knows Dupri better than that — and adds that he’s got something to confess.
Theory strolls back into the ring, laughing. He asks if Otis is about to declare his love for Dupri, making it clear this isn’t some fairy tale.
Theory raises his voice, telling Otis that in the real world, girls like Dupri don’t end up with guys like him — and demanding he stay away from her. That’s enough to make Otis snap. He grabs Theory and hurls him into the ring, and the brawl is on.
Tozawa gets tossed over the commentary table, leaving Otis to handle Theory and Bron Breakker on his own. He crushes Theory in the corner and sends Breakker packing to the outside. But just as he turns to finish Theory off, Dupri steps into his path.
She moves in close, and for a second it looks like she’s about to kiss him. It’s all a setup. Theory comes in from behind with a low blow, and Dupri breaks out laughing at Otis. Tozawa climbs back into the ring, only to get flattened by a Breakker Spear.
Dupri slips Theory a pair of gold brass knuckles, and he goes to work on Otis with them. To chants of “You sold out!” Austin taunts Dupri’s former partner before Breakker finishes the job with a second Spear. The Vision poses over Otis to close out the segment.
Jimmy Uso storms out onto the entrance ramp, calling out for his brother. Jimmy wants Solo Sikoa to stop hiding and come back to the family.
Before Sikoa can show his face, Royce Keys blindsides Jimmy from behind! The two immediately go to war on the ramp, forcing several officials to rush out and pull them apart. Adam Pearce isn’t far behind, and he wastes no time making it official: Jimmy Uso vs. Royce Keys, right now.
Singles Match: Jimmy Uso vs. Royce Keys
– Keys wins via DQ after being attacked by Jacob Fatu.
With the referee calling for the bell, Fatu wedges a chair in front of Keys’ face and lines up for a Running Hip Attack. Before he can pull the trigger, Solo Sikoa steps out onto the ramp and calls for him to stop.
Sikoa climbs into the ring and owns up to the mistakes he’s made. He says he’s finally figured out that blood is thicker than water, and that he’s ready to come home and reunite with his family. He raises his index finger — and Jimmy Uso and Jacob Fatu join him.
Then, just when everything looks settled, Sikoa turns and drops Jimmy with a Samoan Spike.
The chaos keeps building as Keys joins forces with Sikoa to take on Jimmy and Fatu. Fatu manages to lock Sikoa in the Samoan Death Grip, but then LA Knight’s music hits. “The Megastar” comes out swinging a steel chair, catching both Jimmy and Fatu with it and sending them out of the ring.
With the ring clear, Knight grabs a mic. He makes it clear his business with The Bloodline is far from over, promising to go through every member of the stable. This time, though, he’s not planning to do it alone. Knight throws down a challenge: The Usos and Jacob Fatu against himself, Royce Keys and Solo Sikoa in a Six-Man Tag Team Match at SummerSlam.
Backstage, Paul Heyman catches up with The Vision and congratulates the group on their work tonight. Austin Theory asks if that means “The Oracle” is back in the fold. Heyman praises everyone — especially Maxxine Dupri — before turning the question around: “What the hell do you need me for?” Then he walks off.
A video package recaps the rivalry between Brock Lesnar and Oba Femi ahead of their Hell in a Cell Match at SummerSlam.
From there, Oba Femi tracks down Adam Pearce backstage. The Raw General Manager reveals that Paul Heyman had been trying to play him: the restraining order never existed, and the men who came out with Lesnar earlier in the night weren’t real police officers at all.
Femi says he already knew all of it. The Ruler believes Heyman is scared, and he’s warning that everything he’s done to Lesnar up to this point will be nothing compared to what’s coming at SummerSlam.
Byron Saxton catches Bayley on the entrance ramp and asks her about the attack she suffered two weeks ago. The Role Model reminds him she’d already called out Lyra Valkyria to meet her in the ring on last week’s episode of Raw, and she’s done waiting around. Mic in hand, she heads for the ring and asks the Irishwoman to show her face.
Valkyria answers the call, but she looks worn down, and she says nothing once she’s handed the microphone. Bayley tries to create an opening for the two of them to apologize to each other. Valkyria wants no part of it. She blames her former partner for holding her back over the past year, accuses her of lying, and tells her flat out that she’s no locker room leader. Then she goes further, calling Bayley the worst of the Four Horsewomen.
Bayley fires back, running through her own accomplishments, and reveals she’s already talked to Adam Pearce. The match is set — Bayley vs. Valkyria at Saturday Night’s Main Event — and Bayley promises she’s walking out with the win. She turns to leave the ring. That’s when Valkyria strikes, dropping her with a Bayley-to-Belly. Valkyria stands over her fallen former partner to close out the segment.
From there, WWE airs part two of the video package on the Seth Rollins-Roman Reigns rivalry, this one zeroing in on Rollins’ betrayal and the breakup of The Shield.
Right after, a teaser video starring Big Cass closes out with a single date on screen: August 3.
WWE Intercontinental Championship – #1 Contender’s Gauntlet Match: Dragon Lee vs. Chad Gable vs. Joe Hendry vs. Je’Von Evans vs. AAA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio vs. Ethan Page vs. Rusev
– Gable applies an “Ankle Lock” to Page, eliminating him last.
With this victory, Gable will face Penta for the Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam.
The champion appears in the ring and shakes Gable’s hand, making the match official.
Roman Reigns arrives in the arena parking lot, where he receives the World Heavyweight Championship. The OTC drapes the title over his left shoulder and heads toward the ring.
Before that, a video package recaps the segment between CM Punk and Seth Rollins on WWE SmackDown.
Adam Pearce is in the ring to make one of SummerSlam’s biggest matches official. Roman Reigns is called out next, making his entrance with the World Heavyweight Championship in hand. The OTC gets a huge reaction from the Dallas crowd, and after posing with the title, he grabs a microphone.
Reigns asks the crowd to acknowledge him, and they respond with “OTC!” chants as Pearce lays the contract out on the table. Seth Rollins’ music hits.
Rollins comes out and wastes little time putting pen to paper. The Visionary uses the crowd’s reaction to needle the champion, saying there are three things certain in life: death, taxes, and him beating Reigns every time they meet.
Reigns brings up how Rollins bored everyone last week and accuses him of trying to convince the crowd that the two of them are on the same level. Reigns vows to settle that argument at SummerSlam before signing his name to the contract.
Pearce picks up the contract and heads to the back. Rollins thanks Reigns for keeping the title warm for him until SummerSlam and leaves him with one more shot on his way out. “I’ll see you next time you decide to show up for work.”
Reigns stops Rollins from leaving. The champion asks what happens if Rollins actually wins the title — will he hold onto the gold for a few months before getting hurt again? Reigns says Rollins keeps sabotaging himself because he can’t handle the pressure of being on top.
Rollins heads back into the ring and tells Reigns to get everything off his chest. Reigns points out that Rollins is still No. 2, since even after all these years, he still needs a Money in the Bank briefcase to become champion — and the last time, he even had to fake an injury to do it.
Reigns also brings up Triple H, saying Rollins’ biggest benefactor handed him every opportunity imaginable. Even so, Rollins was never able to take Reigns’ spot, and he’ll keep being No. 2.
Rollins tells him he can do better than that — he’s said far worse to himself — and makes it clear the two of them are running completely different races. “I’m a very happy man not being you.”
Rollins fires off a punch to Reigns’ face and goes after the champion. Rollins goes for a Stomp, but Reigns cuts him off with a Superman Punch. Reigns sets up a Powerbomb through the table, but Rollins nails him with the microphone to create separation. The Visionary follows up with a Pedigree and connects with the Stomp!
Rollins stands tall over a fallen Reigns as RAW goes off the air.
