Raja Jackson was released from jail on Tuesday after serving his 90-day sentence for attacking Stuart Smith, known as Syko Stu, at a KnokX Pro Wrestling event in August 2025.
PWInsider confirmed the release with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Jackson had been jailed since July 2, when he was taken into custody following a hearing in San Fernando, California. Along with the 90 days in jail, the plea deal requires him to serve two years of probation and pay $81,703.38 in restitution to Smith.
Jackson pleaded no contest in May to a criminal charge of battery with serious bodily injury. He also admitted two special allegations tied to the severity of the injuries and to violent conduct, which kept the case from going to trial.
The incident took place at a KnokX Pro show. Before the event, Smith hit Jackson with a beer can, mistaking him for a wrestler. The two later smoothed things over and agreed that Jackson would get involved in Smith’s match.
But when Jackson stepped into the ring, he took Smith down and punched him repeatedly, even after Smith was no longer able to defend himself. The entire incident was streamed live on Kick, and it ended only when other wrestlers entered the ring to stop the attack.
Smith was hospitalized for several days. At the July hearing, he said he was still dealing with the effects of the attack, including memory loss and reduced cognitive function, and that he had been unable to work for nearly a year.
He also needed treatment for a severe brain injury and a fractured maxilla and had to undergo a bone graft procedure.
Despite all of that, Smith made clear in court that he was not seeking revenge against Jackson.
Fightful reported Smith’s remarks to the court.
“I hold no grudges against Mr. Jackson. People can make terrible decisions in difficult moments.”
The case also had consequences for KnokX Pro, whose academy was removed from the WWE ID program after the incident. Rikishi, one of the promotion’s founders, later announced he was stepping away from KnokX Pro.
