Reigns accepted Rollins’ SummerSlam challenge on the June 29 episode of RAW. Their contract signing two weeks later ended with Rollins delivering a Stomp to the champion. Rollins rejected Solo Sikoa’s offer to help him against Reigns during last week’s show.
The title match will take place during SummerSlam Sunday on August 2 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. It will be their first one-on-one match since Royal Rumble 2022, when Reigns retained the Universal Championship despite losing by disqualification. WWE‘s records list Rollins with five wins, four losses and one draw against Reigns in singles competition.
