Roman Reigns already has his match set for WWE SummerSlam. On this Monday’s episode of Monday Night Raw, held at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, the World Heavyweight Champion accepted Seth Rollins’ challenge with the title on the line.

Reigns had already been announced for the show, which focused heavily on the fallout from Night of Champions.

The OTC came to the ring for the main event segment, but Rollins interrupted him and quickly brought up their entire history together, from the formation of The Shield to some of the biggest moments of both men’s careers. The Visionary pointed out that Reigns has beaten almost every major name in WWE, but has never been able to defeat him.

At one point, Rollins also brought up his betrayal of The Shield, the historic WrestleMania 31 cash-in, and his alliance with Rhodes that led to the end of Reigns’ long title reign. The idea behind the match is that Reigns will never escape the “ghost” of Seth Rollins until he beats him, with his entire family there to witness it.

Previous rumors had already indicated that Reigns vs. Rollins had been planned for SummerSlam for quite some time, with Rollins’ win over Bron Breakker at Night of Champions being seen as a clear sign that WWE would move in that direction.

This year’s SummerSlam will take place on August 1 and 2 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota, with the event once again being held across two nights.
