Roman Reigns may have another major chapter of The Bloodline ahead of him in WWE, this time against Solo Sikoa.

A new rumor indicates that WWE is looking to have Reigns defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Solo in the main event of a show on July 17. As of now, however, WWE has not officially announced the match.

There is one important detail about the date. WWE lists July 17 as an episode of Friday Night SmackDown from MVP Arena in Albany, New York, not SummerSlam. The premium live event is scheduled for August 1 and 2 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.

Solo being chosen would put the family rivalry back at the center of WWE programming. The former leader of the new Bloodline has had major issues with Reigns in recent years, especially after taking control of the group during The OTC’s absence.

Recent reports had pointed to different directions for Reigns at SummerSlam. Ibou of Self Made Sessions said WWE was working with Seth Rollins and Oba Femi as names tied to the champion’s future, with one of those matches planned for SummerSlam and the other for WrestleMania 43.

That means Reigns’ plans remain open. If the match with Solo does take place on July 17, WWE could use SmackDown as a major bridge to SummerSlam, keeping the World Heavyweight Championship and The Bloodline as central pieces of its summer programming.
