Roman Reigns hits 150 days as WWE World Heavyweight Champion on Wednesday.
The OTC’s reign began on April 19, when he defeated CM Punk at WrestleMania 42 Night 2, and he’s racked up four successful defenses since then.
His first came at Backlash on May 9 against Jacob Fatu. Reigns won after driving his cousin into the exposed turnbuckle and finishing him with the Spear. Fatu attacked Reigns after the match, and the rivalry carried into a rematch.
Three weeks later, they ran it back in the Clash in Italy main event under Tribal Combat rules. Reigns retained with a Spear that put Fatu through a table in the corner, then hit a second one in the center of the ring.
Seth Rollins was the third challenger. In the SummerSlam Night 2 main event on August 2, Reigns got past his former Shield partner and left Minneapolis still World Heavyweight Champion.
The fourth defense came on Monday’s RAW in Mexico City, the show’s first trip to the city in 15 years. Penta earned the shot by winning a tournament featuring luchadores from RAW, SmackDown and AAA, marking the first title defense of this reign outside a Premium Live Event.
Jacob Fatu is the only challenger to get two title shots during this run, and the next defense is already set. Reigns faces LA Knight at Money in the Bank on October 10 in New Orleans.
