Roman Reigns used the promotion of the new Street Fighter movie to taunt Cody Rhodes. When asked who would win a confrontation between Akuma and Guile, characters played by the two in the production, Reigns said.
“Akuma jobs out Guile every single time. 100%.”
The statement comes a few weeks after Reigns gave Rhodes high praise, saying that he is the only name in the current generation capable of taking on the responsibility of leading WWE, just as John Cena did before.
In an interview with Complex, Reigns also explained that he does not consider Akuma a villain, but someone who seeks to face the strongest opponents possible. He said that this characteristic was one of the reasons that led him to play the character.
The new Street Fighter will open in theaters on Friday. The movie is directed by Kitao Sakurai and also features Andrew Koji, Noah Centineo and Jason Momoa in the cast.
