Cody Rhodes made it clear that he does not intend to go back to wearing the makeup of Stardust, the character he played during his first run with WWE.

In an interview with Overtime, he said that he prefers to keep the haircut of Guile, his character in the Street Fighter movie, for a year rather than wear the face paint of Stardust.

The response reinforces a position that Rhodes has held since his departure from WWE in 2016. That year, he told Sports Illustrated that there was no amount of money capable of convincing him to paint his face again.

When explaining his choice, Rhodes said.

“I mean, I would rather always do the Guile haircut. I mean, a year is a long time, so you’re committing. I can’t see a world where I would want the Stardust face paint for one day. So I definitely would go with the Guile flat top.”

The rejection of the character is something that Rhodes has commented on several times, both in the past and recently. In May 2025, as previously reported, Rhodes described Stardust as the lowest point of his career.

The look of Guile, on the other hand, is part of his debut in the Street Fighter film franchise. During filming, Rhodes used a wig to reproduce the character’s distinctive hairstyle.

Street Fighter premiered in theaters on Friday, with Rhodes playing Guile and Roman Reigns in the role of Akuma.
